Many protest rallies in Santa Cruz, California revolve around punk and lo-fi band perfomances in an 11-day festival and peace rally called the Big Bang.
The Big Bang Music Festival and Protest Rally features 36 Bay Area underground punk and lo-fi bands performing over a series of 11-consecutive nights (from September 27th to October 7th). Each night is in a different alternative venue.
The Big Bang is a rally, an 11-day rally. A rally for reflection. A rally for healing. A rally for hope. Each night hundreds show up and use the time and space together to share, learn, express, question, answer, dance, practice, influence, learn, teach, promise, and forgive. We engage in dialogues. We champion civil liberties, due process and diversity. We foster and generate democracy. We encourage integrity and dignity. We invest in each other.
