Fwd: Civil Asset Forfeiture strikes bin Laden

by The Times/UK
Without regard for due process or the presumption of innocence, Bush punished 27 people and organizations by taking their bank accounts hostage on Monday.
Bush freezes terrorist assets

US President George Bush has signed an executive order freezing the assets of 27 individuals and organisations linked to terrorism.

"They include terrorist organisations, individuals, terrorist leaders, a corporation that serves as a front for terrorism and several non-profit organisations," he said in the White House Rose Garden.

Flanked by Secretary of State Colin Powell and Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, he described the move as a "strike on the financial foundation" of terrorists.

Once again, the govt engages in vigilanteism and violates the 4th Amendment by taking control of private property without the victims having had any "day in court". Indeed, the very evidence for their supposed guilt is kept secret from us all, claiming a "national security interest" in keeping secret the very means by which this supposed evidence was even gathered. The "fruit of the poison tree" is now becoming a staple food.

The feds have appointed themselves judge, jury, and executioner. Yesterday it was bin Laden. Today, it's "non-profit organizations that serve as a front for terrorism". Tomorrow, it'll be you.

Anti-globalist leaders: quit now while you're still anal virgins, or federal prison will change that.
