Oakland Anti-War coalition mtg., tonight 7pm

Millions of people around the world are mourning the tragic deaths that occurred in New York on September 11. Meanwhile, George W. Bush is preparing for a war against Afghanistan and possibly other countries that will only result in the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians in those countries. At the same time, the scapegoating of Arabs, Muslims, and South Asians living in the US is leading to a rise in hate crimes.

This meeting will include Carolyn Scarr of the Ecumenical Peace Institute, Barabara Lubin from the Middle East Children's Alliance, and speakers from the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Global Exchange and the International Socialist Organization on why you should oppose the war drive and the scapegoating. Bring questions and ideas to this forum and help organize a broad coalition of progressive organizations and activists against war and racism.
