i fixed this post. when you publish, you have to specify whether you are uploading a jpeg or gif image in the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page. if you don't, you get the messed up thing you saw. this is a bug in the software, and should be fixed soon (it should properly detect uploaded files). thanks.
