100 Protesters Visit Daily Californian

The cartoon is both racist and sexist. I think a great deal of fuss should also be made about the obvious sexism, referring to sex with virgins. What kind of pornographic trash, as well as racist trash, is this that is appearing in the Daily Californian? It is clear that the Daily Cal has been taken over by a group of reactionary illiterates and it is time the progressive students at UC Berkeley take journalism classes so they may be on the staff of the Daily Cal and restore it to its position of being the voice of the peace, anti-racist, feminist and generally progressive community as it was during the Vietnam War. In other words, it is long overdue that the Daily Cal and UC Berkeley, a public university paid for with our federal and state tax dollars, be the voice of the workingclass that makes that university possible, that it be the voice of the dispossessed, the disinherited and the disenfranchised. Progressive Students: Take those journalism classes and become members of the Daily Cal staff.
