Here is a 17 minute video from the rally and march in Berkeley on Sept. 18, 2001, supporting Barbara Lee for her courageous lone vote in congress to not go to war to revenge the S11 attacks on NYC and Washington, and to call for: No Hate! No War!

I think we should try to communicate with these people and try to get the 7 virgins so they don't have to do suicide to get them. I think they get 7 virgins in an afterlife. There's that lady in Italy that says she will have sex for peace (she's not a virgin though, but they might not mind). Then, that desert must be awful, could we get them some air conditioners? I don't like to fight and want us all to have fun and happiness and peace and everything that is fun in life!

Whom do you mean by "these people?" I didn't hear anything about virgins in the clip. Nor, for that matter, have I heard anything about a woman in Italy offering sex for peace (maybe I missed something). Since soldiers often commit rape, if militarism carries the day she (and many others) may have sex at gunpoint -- perhaps (if this story is true) she'd rather retain some shred of choice in the matter.

Your reference to "that desert" suggests that you refer to Arabs. Before we give them air conditioners, it might be better to *stop* giving (or sellng) our client governments in the region so many warplanes, parts of chemical & biological weapons, etc.

If you don't like fighting and want everyone to have a good time, you might consider opposing our (U.S.) government's subsidies of foreign arms sales, which make our weapons companies #1 in littering the world with instruments of death (and our lead is increasing).

Judy, your comment is not only ill-thought-out but has nothing to do with the video. I'm puzzled that you wish to display your ignorance & muddled thinking so publicly. Are you trying to sabotage Indymedia, or do you simply enjoy making a fool of yourself?
