by Joe Rigney
Actions and forums are being organized in Santa Cruz. On Tuesday, there will be a Walk for all of the Victims of Violence over highway 17. On Wednesday, there will be a community forum at 7:30 at the Pacific Cultural Center in Seabright.
Walk for all the Victims of Violence

What: Walk to honor all victims of violence in the world and a call to end the futile cycle of violence

Where: Departing from the Clock Tower in Santa Cruz walking Highway 17 We plan to walk all of Highway 17

When: Tuesday, September 18 - Gather at 6:00 AM

Our intention is not to block the road but to be a visible presence, walking roadside. We will walk and display the names of victims of violence from around the world. Please come dressed in white to symbolize the surrender of arms.

Please invite all of your friends, family and neighbors to join us.

At 8:30a, there was no sign of any march on highway 17 and only 3 protesters standing at the corner of River and highway 1 with a couple banners. No one left at the fountain or clock tower.

Did the march even happen, or was there not enough turnout?
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
