Building Bridges: Your Community and Labor Report in Exile brings you this 25 minute internet radio piece on the "Candlelight Vigil for Peace" held at Union Square Park, Friday, Sept 14 - 6-8PM

The leaflet for this event called it a Candlelight vigil for Peace. It said that "Islam is not the enemy. War is not the answer. Work for Global Peace and Justice."

Probably because of this I saw very little coverage of this massive event on Friday night's news programs despite the fact that thousands attended. The one report I did see on channel ll at about 10pm portrayed it as an event mourning the dead (which it was) but made no mention of the concerns of the participants about the coming war or the fears that permeated the demonstration about the growing intolerance towards the Muslim community.
