Next Planning Meeting for Local SF S30 Solidarity Actions
Announcement for activists interested in planning local SF soldarity actions to be held in conjunction with Sept. 30th IMF / World Bank protests in Washington, D.C.
The next planning meeting for local S30 events will take place on Tuesday September 4th, 6:30pm, at Global Exchange (2017 Mission St.).
We are in the midst of planning a rally and march on Sunday September 30th, at noon, in downtown San Francisco. This rally and march will be the culmination of "Ten Days to Shake the Bay", a calendar of events tied to corporate globalization and it's impact on local communities.
Events will include a visit to San Francisco by French farmer and anti-corporate globalization activist Jose Bove, various events and speaking engagements featuring maquliadora workers from Tijuana, Mexico, and a tour stop by Taco Bell farmworker activists from Florida. Other events will link corporate globalization to issues of police brutality, local poverty issues and the jailing of youth of color. A full list will be available in the next week or so as a san Francisco link on the http://www.globalizethis.org website.
We encourage all progressive organizations to endorse these local actions, and ask that representatives be sent to Tuesday's planning meeting.
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at the above e-mail address.
