A Call For A National Student Action Week in Support of the Palestinians
From: Union of Arab Student Associations, Students for Justice in Palestine (Berkeley), and Al-awda Students:
Intifada Week (9/22-9/29)
We call upon students nation wide to plan a calendar of events for the week (or so) leading up to the one year anniversary of the Intifada, October 1st, 2001.
We would like to have something going on daily somewhere and sponsored by multiple groups. We encourage having a few all-day exhibits,
daily videos, editorials, and panels. The goals are education, visibility, recruitment, momentum, and recognition for the continuing struggle.
We envision a very well-publicized and well-attended string of events, where each one is used to announce following ones. INFO tables should
be constantly present, as will media.
So far many groups such as the Network of Arab-American Alumni and Professionals and the ADC have committed to help out for this week. They can provide videos, posters, written information and press releases. In addition, many individuals have committed to writing and circulating
articles.

But please, I'm not expert on the subject. Enlighten us with your solution for the ages. I'm interested.
It's Saturday night, so I'm not in the mood for a discourse - but a couple of things to consider:
How did Israel end up with the West Bank and Gaza - and isn't it ironic that all this is for something the Palestinans were offered - and rejected -50 years ago.
As for Israel's political system - even though the West Bank etc., is not Israeli territory, I'll throw that in for purposes of argument.
I would susggest that Palestinians, both inside and out of the Occupied Territories enjoy more political, religious freedom than in any Arab country I can think of.
To equate Israel's government with apartheid is a hoot. You should look at Israel's neighbors - both near and far. Israel compares mightily favorably.
Just curious, how many Jews were allowed to pray at the Western Wall, pre-1967? How many Jews are in the Syrian parliament, how about the Egyptian, the Jordanian, or Lebanese?
Anyways, hope to see those little kiddies with the fake TNT at the demonstration.
I -do- love a parade.
