DU is Uranium 238.. very heavy, dense, like lead.. and on impact catches fire.. extremely \'good\' weapons material.. penetrates and kills everything in its path.. a byproduct of uranium production at plants in Peducah, Kentucky; Portsmouth, Ohio; Oak Ridge, Tennessee.. Munitions used by US planes and tanks, now even in machine guns.. even used in training, in Vieques.. used in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia.. hundreds of tons used.. the primary route.. is inhalation.. very fine particles.. do not come within 80 feet without full respiratory and skin protection..
