Environmentalism Kills!

by Firefighter
Can't Harm Endangered Fish, But Evidently Can Kill Endangered Humans
Tom L. Craven, 30, Karen L. Fitzpatrick, 18, Devin A Weaver, 21, and Jessica L. Johnson, 19 are all dead because environmental concerns delayed getting water for 9 hours. Apparently, fish are more important than people

Sure, it might be annoying and frustrating to see our newswires polluted with disinformation. And it's certainly a little worrisome to see us, in essence, accused of murder.

But it also shows that we're having an impact. These people wouldn't waste their time with us if we weren't doing something that pissed them off.

Oh, and for the record, no amount of air-dropped water would have doused that particular fire, which was burning far too strongly for any water to have had an impact. The firefighters' deaths were tragic, but by no means caused by 'environmentalism'. Get a clue.

okay, so this is an obvious anti-green front story put out by rupert murdoch's propaganda machine. the point is still made, though. the "green movement" has a lot of state power right now, whether you think it is more or less than the oil companies is irrelevant. the process in the pacific northwest for determining what is and is not federal property has been exclusionary and classist. many environmentalists do not understand that the government is not their friend, and they alienate a hell of a lot of people, and play right into the FBI's hands of dividing workers and greens. people were BOMBED around here for attempting to bring these two groups together, and as far as I can tell, there hasn't been any real co-operation between the two in a long time. greens, there cannot be a hierarchy between earth rights and human rights, period. and oregonians who hate the "greens" ... realize that these folks have more in common with you than the wise use movement or oil industry lobbyists, etc who will screw you in a MINUTE if they could and they will if they stabilize their power in this region.

Duh!

Of course fish are more important than people. We are a blight on this planet and should be wiped out. Environmentalists are doing their part to make it happen.

What's Your Excuse?

I agree. Humans per se are not a blight. roughly 99% of humanity's time on this planet has been ecologically chill. Private property, hierarchy, industrialism etc. have forced humans into *ways* of interacting with themselves, others, and the earth in very malajusted and broken ways. We've effectively been socialized into sado-masochism. Hating yourself, others, or the world doesn't fix the problems in your personal life and it won't bring in end to this nightmare civilization either. In fact, that self-hatred (reflected in the macrocosmic as misanthropy) is one of *the* most powerful control mechanisms that Babylon has against us because it cripples us into patheteic neurosis, anxiety and insecurity. Love still is the answer no matter how cheesy pop culture and the post modern mind might try to make it sound.
Humans aren't bad. They're great! They're so great that they don't deserve this fucked up bullshit anymore! They're so great that they don't need to go to work ever again! They're so wonderful that they should be eating tasty healthy foods and making love in public and learning to juggle. They rock the house so much that they should have big giant trees to look at everywhere and epic landscapes to wander through, amazed, like mama nature intended.
They're so beautiful that they should never encounter a cop ever again or be led to think that buying things is better than doing things or that the songs that they make up aren't better than the ones on MTV. Humans need to stop torturing themselves and they need to do it quick. The only thing holding us back is our own fear of true freedom.
