Anarchism, infiltration and future tactics
It is time for an open dialogue on tactics. We can't escape the fact that we will be watched and infiltrated, so we must aim to become as immune as possible to such attacks.
"The anarchists turned in on themselves, organized themselves for direct action in small clandestine groups which were easily infiltrated by police and informers."
- From Anarchism by Daniel Guerin, page 74.

If the Black Bloc and similar groups are in fact so prone to subversion then this needs to be openly discussed and dealt with. Likewise, devout pacifists need to let down their guard and be willing to discuss differing tactics as being potentially complimentary rather than necessarily oppositional. Otherwise they too play into the same strategy of divide and conquer.
This suggestion is not meant to condemn the actions of any group or split the movement. Rather it is a call to assess our weaknesses and develop our strengths, to enshrine the notion of diverse tactics while creating mechanisms for non-confrontational dialogue on how best to move forward. To recognize that different approaches may be more or less valuable at different times.
In other words, no more secrets, dogma and infighting. What we need is more discussion. We all want essentially the same things and we have a long way to go.

I was living in a house made of glass and steel, and I knew that "they" could see anything I did, but it didn't matter, because there was nothing they could do to counteract my actions...
Let your hearts be as clear as glass, your fire will shine through and skulkers in shadows (ie, infiltrators) will have no place to hide.
there is nothing you can do to stop fascists from infiltrating large demonstrations.
the black bloc has not been infiltrated. people dressed like "anarchists" have gone around smashing shit up that the bloc does not smash. the over-reaction exemplified by individuals on indymedia is playing into their hands.
the bloc will continue the tactic will continue. simply put if someone is attacking individuals or small businesses or personal property then they are not with the black bloc.
it is a universal rule among the black bloc not to harm indivuduals. there are two groups that are not black bloc that are being called black bloc by people not familiar with the black bloc, local youths that seize the oppurtunity to riot with no political agenda, and fascists that seize the oppurtunity to cause mayhem to put the anarchists in a bad light.
we will continue and move forward. we will not go back. you must decide where you stand.
