g8 demo: spooky talks to the cops

i thought this guy was from the consulate?

He's the same guy who came out via the front entrance of the consulate, while we were all in front, and was quasi-escorted by the cops through the crowd. I'd assumed he was, himself, the consul -- older, male, Italian-ethnic, looked real irritated by the situation -- but that was guesswork, no data to back it up. Might be able to get a more definite identification from whomever spoke to the consul, earlier.

His identity was revealed to the protester that was arrested at the beginning of the demo yesterday. He was the one who initially grabbed the protester before turning him over to a uniformed officer who pulled up in an unmarked car almost immediately. In the course of the protester being detained he was identified as a police officer by the other cop.

the Police Captain told the march's police liason that this guy was the "liason between the consulate and the police". Definitely a pig of some sort, but I think not a fed.
