Many IMCs offline

Many of the IMCs are offline, including global. Does anyone have a *confirmed* reason for this or know when they'll be back up?

A lot of the IMCs seem to be be offline - global, italy, nyc, ontario, montreal, uk...not sure how many others.

I understand Italy being down, but I was surprised about the others. Just hoping thre hasn't been a meltdown or anything. The timing is awfully weird, but I realize traffic may have caused a problem.

Does anyone know what's going on?

They default port seems to be set for 8081 sometimes.

Try ...indymedia.org:8080 when the normal address is not working.

§Fiber Trunk Burnt

One of the east-west fiber trunks is down. The Baltimore train-tunnel fire (which, incidentally, occoured simultaneously with the code-red virus) damaged the link. This has brought down numerous route paths and could explain much of the problems that are occouring.
