Support the People's Budget Collaborative

by Justice
The People's Budget Collaborative is currently under attack by those Democrats who think protesting the actions of the current San Francisco Board of Supervisors is out of order. It is these Democrats who are out of order. The budget is prepared by the mayor and is only dealt with peripherally by the supervisors. The mayor can veto what the supervisors propose as it is the mayor's budget, which is to say, it is the budget of the capitalist class, represented by the Chamber of Commerce and the mayor.
Thus, until the budget is prepared by the Board of Supervisors, and passed with the vote of the Board of Supervisors with no veto by the mayor, this budget is inherently undemocratic and anti-workingclass. The majority of this Board supported the reactionary business tax settlement, which is a sellout to big business at the expense of the poor. Until all 15,000 homeless people are housed in decent affordable housing, until we have adequate medical care for all in San Francisco, until we have a viable, comprehensive and affordable public transportation system, and until we have a democratic budget process, the budget of San Francisco must be protested. For more information on the People's Budget Collaborative, see http://www.sftax.org.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
