Thanks to those that could make it to tonights planning meeting for actions related to A6-S14. This information may be shared with those you think would be interested in participating. No formal decisions have been made so far. However, we have come up with some general framework to move forward on:

a. their will be a low risk scenario aimed at generating as much participation of general folks as possible. This will allow for open and public participation of all that would like to draw attention to the war on Iraq without a high risk of arrest.

b. their also will be a high risk scenario in addiotion to the low risk action/scenario. this will inolve a high risk of arrest. To clarify their will be two actions: one low risk, one high risk.

c. the messaging we are working on generally reads:
"End the War Against the Poor" as the war on Iraq is a war being waged on poor people in the third world at the expense of poor people in the first world that instead of having basic infrastructure needs paid for they are getting missiles, bombs, fighter planes and nuclear weapons to injur innocent Iraqis. With examples from the crackdown on the homeless here in San Francisco as a graphic example of how this process works.

d. the timing of the action looks like will be sometime in early September but this is still open to scheduling depending on core peoples availability.

GET INVOLVED. We need more people to get involved for this to be a succesful action.

NEXT MEETING:
Monday, July 23rd, 6:30pm. Suite 216, 2940 16th St. (in the Mission District). This meeting is geared toward open public participation.
