Ecoterrorism Congressional Conference
Rainforest Action Network will be spotlighted

On Wednesday, June 13, 2001, the United States Senate will be the site of a congressional conference on the alarming threat of ecoterrorism - unlawful acts committed to save nature - and the evolution of conservation organizations into attack groups into ecoterrorists.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Rep. George Nethercutt (R-WA) will address legislative solutions to the potentially lethal spate of arsons, vandalism, unlawful protests and death threats sweeping the country.

The conference is sponsored by Frontiers of Freedom, a non-profit think tank in the Washington, DC area that was founded by retired Senator Malcolm Wallop.

Three panels of experts will detail the philosophical unity of radical attack groups and ecoterrorists, the huge damage to our civilization perpetrated by orchestrated arsons and destruction, and the need for stringent measures to curb this threat.

Ron Arnold, executive vice president of the non-profit think tank, the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise, will spotlight the Rainforest Action Network as an attack group not an environmental group. He will present RAN’s anti-capitalist and anti-corporate agenda of force, intimidation and unlawful actions. Arnold will also show suspicious links between RAN’s rhetoric and Earth Liberation Front acts.
