by Council of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuado
Thursday Jun 7th, 2001 3:22 PM
Ecuador's Indigenous Movement remembers four of its protesters killed in the January-February uprising, and continues its demands for justice and diversity.
MASS IN MEMORY OF ASSASSINATED INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

CONAIE would like to invite you to a mass in memory of those assassinated by the Public Forces in the most recent uprising of January-February, to be held this Thursday in Parque El Arbolito (Little Tree Park) at 11 o'clock.

This Celebration in Memory of our murdered brothers, as well as in solidarity with the wounded and their relatives, seeks to recognize the total and vital sacrifice they made in defense of the popular and national interest.

[Also,] so that the government may understand that we do not want any more crimes and repression from the State.

The fight of the Indigenous Movement for justice, equity, and respect for pluralism and biodiversity will continue until they are a reality.
