Rally, Noon, Thursday, May 24th- AGAINST EVICTIONS!

We need your help. Last fall we worked together to elect a Board of
Supervisors that would be responsive to the eviction epidemic that is
driving tenants out of our city forever. Right now there is legislation
before the Board that will stop evictions of immigrants from public housing
and for tenants in private housing for TICs. However, the real estate
industry is doing everything they can to kill the legislation.

We have a hearing next week before the Housing and Land Use Committee on
Thursday, May 24. Please come to a rally at City Hall at 12:00 P.M to
support tenants on both of these issues.

UNA LLAMADA URGENTE - LUCHEMOS EN CONTRA DE LOS
DESALOJOS DE INMIGRANTES EN LA VIVIENDA PUBLICA Y PARA
PARAR LA CONSTRUCION DE LOS TICS

Necesitamos su auyda. El otono pasado, trabajamos
juntos para elegir una mesa de supervisores que
responderia al epidemio de desalojo que esta
desplazandonos a todos afuera de la ciudad. Ahora,
los supervisores estan revisando legislacion que
pararia los desalojos de inmigrantes de la vivienda
publica y de inquilinos de vivienda privada cuando los
duenos quieren construir un TIC (un TIC es un tipo de
condominio). Pero las companias del real estate estan
haciendo todo lo posible para matar a la legislacion.
Tenemos una audiencia enfrente del Comite de Vivienda
y el Uso de Tierra de la mesa de supervisores el
jueves 24 de mayo al mediodia.

Por favor, vengan a la protesta en frente de la alcaldia (City Hall) a las
12 para apoyar al movimiento de inquilinos. Food Not
Bombs va a llevar comida.
