Protesters at Monument Gate Entry to Mattole

In Humboldt County, protesters block entry to logging trucks at Pacific Lumber/Maxxam Monument gate. After assurances from the truckers that they were not hauling logs from the Mattole Watershed Long Ridge area where forest defenders are contesting logging of old growth Douglas Fir, the trucks were allowed to pass. Wildlife biologist, ranchers and other non-logging groups were also allowed to pass.
