All is quiet in the woods as of Saturday night. Though a blockade is not up, we have a strong contingent camped out and waiting to see what the coming week will bring. Roots, Groat and Eeyor were released Friday evening, Aardvarck is still in jail due to violation of his probation for November's Mattole arrest. We'll have contact info for him soon.

Joseph Powell aka Soma will have his sentencing hearing Monday April 23rd at 3pm at the Humboldt County Courthouse. Despite a well presented defense, Soma was found quilty by a Humboldt jury in late March of two counts of trespass and two counts of resisting arrest for his courageous arrest defending the old growth Douglas Fir of the Mattole. WE NEED TO PACK THE COURTROOM in front of Judge Feeney to show solidarity with our brave comrade who has been through so much and taken such a risk taking his case to trial.
