When the Coalition surveyed over 400 homeless people in shelters and on the streets, one of the chief complaints about the shelter system was racism.

In the midst of the media frenzy regarding the Supervisor Daly/Mayor Brown scuffle, the issue of homeless people has been lost. What is worse is that what started as an argument between two elected officials turned sadistically into an all-out attack on a poor people\'s organization -- the Coalition on Homelessness. We believe that this frenzy has been a carefully orchestrated maneuver by the Mayor
