East Bay FNB to hold Bag Brown Lunch
East Bay Food Not Bombs will share food with any and all on Tuesday, April 10th, 12 noon in front of Oakland's City Hall, corner of 14th & Broadway.
Join Food Not Bombs in downtown Oakland for a delicious community meal, free for all, the way it should be. We're protesting the continued gentrification of Oakland and lack of affordable and accessible housing and services. We're also celebrating community by doing what we do best, cooking and sharing in public spaces, which are all to often off-limits to the homeless and those that "diminish the image" of an area and "hurt sales tax figures."
Jerry Brown would have you believe that he cares about all Oaklanders. While he may have won the mayoral race on his "progressive" platform, is it now not obvious that he's not interested in helping the majority of Oaklanders who rent, live paycheck to paycheck, and are homeless?
East Bay Food Not Bombs would like to show JB that Oaklanders DO want Just Cause, DO want truly affordable housing, and DO want a living wage...to start.
Our food is vegan and free. Stop by and have some.
Whatever you do, recognize that we are all responsible for making this world a just, healthy and sustainable one.
While City Hall throws crumbs, we join those who want full course meals...
