Chris Daly supported!

The Mayor slandered Chris pretty good in the Chronic-Lies. Having a press office

Five Coalition on Homelessness staffers were attending the meeting; all prepared depositions. All concur that Mayor Brown got up from the meeting table, and walked around the table to get into Chris' face. Chris stood up to the Mayor, who managed to trip over acting DHS director Trent Rohrer's chair. Rorher, who was trying to get out of Willie's way, assisted the Mayor back to his feet. Paul Boden of COH stood up between Chris and Brown, who stormed out of the meeting in one of his all-too-common snits.

Rohrer is one of three candidates for the vacant director's position at the Department of Human Services -- salary: $160-188,000/year. Guess that accounts for why his version of events supported Slick Willie's deliberate misrepresentation.

Net result: a week of spin and gossip totally sidestepping the real issue: the City's Shelter Redesign plan, which in no way reflects any of the input from the 407 homeless people we surveyed in Sheltered Lives (see Housing Project page on this site).

The Republican San Francisco Chronicle of April 4, 2001, the date of the 33rd anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, not only saw fit to write a hypocritical editorial calling for civility at City Hall while it continues to promote the very uncivil election-frauding thug, Democrat Willie Brown, but also to print a viciously anti-Semitic editorial cartoon.

This editorial cartoon consisted of the advertising gimmick, the plastic dog's head of Doggie Diner junk food restaurant, with its long nose, broken at the time, and the labeling of this dog's head as Alan Greenspan, the Federal Reserve chairperson. This is a very old anti-Semitic cartoon theme: the long nose of a person of Jewish descent. I do not happen to like the policies of Greenspan, but I will not tolerate anti-Semitism. It so happens that April is Holocaust Remembrance Month, when the Jewish community, secular and religious, commemorates the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of April 1943, when a handful of ghetto residents with a few hand weapons held off the mighty Nazi army for over a month in a desperate attempt at self-defense, one of many examples of the fact that Jews did fight back, whenever possible.

Having such a cartoon in any newspaper is outrageous. To add insult to injury, the Chronicle, newspaper of record for Northern California, had the unmitigated gall to print an editorial calling for civility at City Hall because of a minor incident when a very young 28-year-old supervisor, Chris Daly, had tried to meet with the vicious, foul-mouthed fascist thug "mayor" Willie Brown, age 67, who has been terrorizing San Francisco for over 5 years with his election-frauding team, and currently sits in office with 40% of the vote plus election fraud. That election fraud was committed in exactly the same manner as that in the 49er Stadium Swindle election of June 3, 1997 when we voted 70% no on the 49er Swindle propositions D&F, and it was recorded as 50.2% "yes." See http://www.brasscheck.com/stadium. Currently, his support is at 18%, represented by his two toadies on the Board of Supervisors, Tony Hall of District 7 (St. Francis Woods) and Gavin Newsom of District 2 (Marina, Pacific Heights). This incident quickly became a male-posturing, swear-word hurling scene, but fortunately, ended in 15 minutes. Brown had entered the meeting swearing and generally acting belligerent, for which he has a well-earned reputation, and apparently things went downhill from there.

Chris Daly and all the other pro-tenant supervisors should live by the rule that they must never speak to Willie Brown as he simply has nothing good to say, so any meeting with him is a waste of time at best, and an invitation to saber-rattling at worst. Any communication that is required with Willie Brown should be done by E-mail, written letter or telephone call with witnesses present. It is also imperative that all men learn to stop engaging in male posturing and swearing at political meetings, and this is usually a male problem.

The primary responsibility of the pro-tenant supervisors is to defend rent control, as Willie Brown and the ruling class which put him in office, represented by the Chamber of Commerce, the Democratic Central Committee and the Republican Central Committee, can hardly wait to repeal rent control so as to maximize profits, which is the primary concern of these capitalist parties. The tenants number over 500,000 in San Francisco, and are the workingclass, without whose labor this city will come to a grinding halt.

Just about everybody in San Francisco has their horror story about Willie Brown, but the one that the press has received and is a matter of public record, has yet to be told in the press, much less pursued. It is the story of Delores Evans and 5 children, murdered by Willie Brown's election fraud team in a mysterious fire in their Housing Authority home in Bayview-Hunters point just as Evans was about to testify in the election fraud lawsuit against the 49er Stadium Swindle, filed December 3, 1997, as to the election fraud she witnessed as a pollworker in that election. The fire inspector quoted in the Examiner stated they could have escaped but someone stopped them. A Complaint on Election Fraud was filed with the Board of Supervisors' Sunshine Task Force on January 9, 1999, containing a paragraph about Delores Evans, as well as about Charlie Walker, the owner of a trucking business who provided the trucks that transported the ballot boxes to unknown locations to be tampered with in the 49er Stadium Swindle election. The press has made a fuss about Charlie Walker and his participation in Willie Brown's scam against affirmative action programs, using black fronts for white contractors, but they have not publicized the story of Delores Evans, although they were given a copy of the complaint.

Chris Daly has a good voting record, but it is a shame he chose to register Democrat instead of remaining independent. It is the Democratic Party that is allowing Willie Brown to sit in office, illegally, and perpetrate his reign of terror, till-tapping, and destruction of our city, and my hometown, for the benefit of the enrichment of a few. This is the same Democratic Party that dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, perpetrated the Korean and Vietnam Wars, as well as many other wars, promotes all stadium swindles, all of which are corporate welfare, and has perpetrated and continues to promote many other anti-workingclass actions because it is a capitalist party. No party can be for both capital and labor, and the Democrats are just as much for capitalism, and take the same corporate funding, as does the Republican Party, which supports all of the same wars, stadium swindles, repeal of rent control and all the other evil deeds of Willie Brown.

The Democratic Party clearly has no future and is disintegrating before our eyes, as it becomes more honest about what it is, a capitalist party. If you are looking for a party that represents the future and the workingclass, you must look for a socialist party. Peace & Freedom Party is a socialist workingclass party that was on the California ballot from 1968 to 1998 and needs just a few more registrations to restore its ballot status for 2002. A lot of young people who have no memory of the civil rights movement of the 1960s seem to think that Willie Brown was some great civil rights leader. Nothing could be further from the truth, and the historical record is quite clear. Everyone active in San Francisco politics today should read the biography, Willie Brown, by James Richardson (1996, University of California press), available in many bookstores and at the library, and can be special-ordered. It is not only a biography of Willie Brown, it is a history of San Francisco politics from 1950 to 1995. Since San Francisco has been run by the Democratic Party Brown-Burton machine since the 1960s, it is also a history of the sordid politics of the Democratic Party.

Willie Brown came from a gambling-prostitution environment, both in Texas and in San Francisco. His uncle in San Francisco, with whom he stayed upon his arrival from Texas, ran a gambling business, Being a shipyard worker at Hunter's Point was not good enough for him; he wanted to get rich quick. Willie Brown became a leading pro-gambling, pro-tobacco, pro-real estate legislator on the basis of this reactionary background.

As to civil rights, Brown joined the NAACP, a black capitalist organization, which board members, including Thurgood Marshall, had kicked out its founder, Dr. W.E.B. DuBois, in 1948 for being too red. It is in the NAACP that Brown's reputation for committing election fraud became known. Election fraud, organized crime, gambling and prostitution are all one sordid world, all used by the capitalist class to terrorize and oppress the workingclass.

Willie Brown was so reactionary that Kathleen Cleaver of the Black Panther Party ran for Assembly in 1968 against Willie Brown on the Peace & Freedom Party ticket. Willie Brown's term in the Assembly, from 1965 to 1995, was spent promoting real estate interests that engaged in the "whitening" of San Francisco, with its redevelopment policies, also known as poor people, and especially poor black people removal.

Willie Brown welcomed and never apologized for his support for and use of the CIA front, the People's Temple, to commit election fraud in San Francisco and at the statewide level, on behalf of the Democratic Party in the 1970s. For more on that sordid scene, see:
http://www.brasscheck.com/jonestown.

The Democratic Party is as much an election fraud party as is the Republican Party, and has a long history of using the black community to commit election fraud against that community's own interests. Election fraud is fascism and an election fraud team is a strike-breaking team.

Willie Brown has appointed Republicans to all kinds of positions in San Francisco while "mayor," and he has been a friend of Republicans all his political life. He was elected to Speaker of the Assembly with Republican, as well as Democratic, votes. He not only has tried to give away the city treasury to that good Republican of 49er Stadium Swindle fame, Eddie DeBartolo, but has relied on the attorneys for the 49ers and the Republican Party, Nielsen, Merksamer, Parrinello, Mueller & Naylor, to assist in defeating tenant measures as they are also landlords' attorneys. Willie Brown has spent his career promoting real estate interests, that is landlords' interests.

Brown's reason for holding public office is the same as for all other capitalist politicians: To enrich himself. He simply rode the tide of the times when it was practically a revolutionary act to vote for a black person, and as that same civil rights movement branched to other civil rights causes, such as gay liberation, he promoted that cause, helping to overturn the sodomy law in California in 1975. He used all of these progressive causes to get elected, and then spent his time in office enriching himself with his connections as a legislator that made it possible for him to build his law practice. It was the struggle in the streets by the workingclass that made all the victories in the civil rights movement possible, and Willie Brown did not lead those struggles at all. He was too busy becoming a millionaire at the expense of the workingclass.

The Democratic Party loves to portray itself as a representative of the oppressed and especially the poor black community. Its entire history is in fact that of being a representative of the oppressor. The chairperson of the national Democratic Party today, Ed Rendell, was the district attorney who framed Mumia Abu-Jamal. The Democratic Party makes itself very clear with such a chairperson that it opposes the black liberation struggle.

There is no place for opportunist hustlers for the capitalist class in Peace & Freedom Party. Peace & Freedom Party is a workingclass socialist party, staunch supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal and the black, gay and women's liberation movements. To help restore such a worthy alternative to the California ballot by 2002, after having been on the ballot from 1968 to 1998, please check "Other" on your voter registration card and write in Peace and Freedom Party.
