Anti-FTAA Protests Rock Western Hemisphere
A summary of hemisphere-wide protests on April 2 against the FTAA negotiations.
Building up to a massive attempt to shut down the FTAA talks in Quebec City this month, protests began across the western hemisphere.<br><br>In Ottowa, protesters attempted to enter the DFAIT, or Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, on a "search and rescue" mission to reclaim the text. Over 80 people were arrested.<br><br>In San Francisco, Robin Hood and his Merry Band stormed the Pacific Stock Exchange, demanding release of the text. Over a dozen people were arrested and cops brutally attacked at least two people.<br><br>In Argentina, massive protests are planned as protesters will confront the foreign ministers who finishing up the draft in Buenos Aires.

§Hyperbole or Real Resistance
i have enjoyed planning resistance to the FTAA. BUT, these minor protests would hardly count as "rockin'" or as a signnificant resistance to the powers that be. GET TO WORK Y'ALL, TO THE BARRICADES.
