Shrub Wants his Toy Back! China Says NO!

by SJA (noevilempire [at] outblaze.net)
China intercepts U.S. plane spying on them and captures the plane and crew-AND SHRUB THINKS THEY'LL GIVE IT BACK???!!!
This is getting downright comical! Let's see now-a U.S. military spy plane is flying in Chinese air space while spying on that country. Spy plane collides with a Chinese fighter sent to defend China's own air space. U.S. spy plane is lucky to survive with minimal damage and lands safely on Chinese soil(no word from the U.S. media, of course, on the fate of the Chinese fighter and its pilot). Plane and crew are seized by Chinese officials acting in defense of their own territory. George W. Shrub-Bush demands China to return the plane and crew he sent to spy on China-China says "NO WAY!!"---DUUUUHHH!!!!
My advice to China's officials-send back the 24 crew members, but keep the plane and its equipment-FINDERS KEEPERS!!
The latest untouched news real from my one person opinon!

Without futher violation of state supremists or government intervention I bring you this!

Unable to determine if an unarmed aircraft is a threat to Chinese airspace, the chinese government chose not to shoot down the mighty U.S. aircraft. Instead they wanted an international display of scrotum sacks to play games with the west of the world. The Soviets would have had U2 on the ground to test rockets but the Chinese choose international controversy. If any Chinese aircraft encrouched U.S. "free airspace" it would have been shot down too. Instead we have ourselves a made for CBS show that will be on for a while.

As for the 24 American hostages (possesions) they can only await extradition back to U.S. military bases and the president will shake their hands. Its international politics post cold war malaria!

While at first I figured well the U.S. had to had this coming, on further inspection I found I was wrong. I am the anti-Bush anarchist type pro-China and everything, but every story has its details.

I have read on CNN (Corporate news, I know... who doesn't love AOL-Time Warner the media supergiant) that both sides agree the US spy plane was in international airspace. This means China had no right to send a war plane near it. It is China's fault to send this plane. Why exactly the collision took place (who rammed who, who made a miscalculation) won't be admitted by either party.

Sure it was a spy plane, and China has the right to be upset with that, they shouldn't have sent a warplane to intercept over international airspace.

And as far as international law goes, damaged vessels should be allowed to land and left alone, and medical help given if necessary. Taking the crew and taking the equipment on board (U.S. crew had already destroyed sensitive materials) is a violation of international law, regardless of whether it seems justified because its a spy plane.
by bemused at the whole thing
So Vac, you're a pro-China anarchist, huh? *chuckle*

Ok, to be fair, you did say "anarchist type."

It seems to me that the Chinese aircraft (warplane or not)had as much right (when i say "right", i am of course examining this issue in the abstract, as i could give a shit about international law)to be in international airspace as the US spyplane.

I think what everybody is forgetting is that international airspace or not, the US spyplane was trolling the coast of China, thousands of miles away from the United States. The Chinese planes were cruising around their own backyard. When's the last time you heard of Chinese planes (or Russian planes, or Iraqi planes, or Ossoma Bin Laden's personal terrorist fighters jets) flying off the coast of California or Maryland (in international airspace, of course).

You don't hear about it, because it doen't happen, because the U.S. would throw a fit. But the U.S. government feels it's acceptable to have its planes fly anywhere it pleases (in international airpace, of course.) That also goes for submarines. Perhaps that Japanese fishing vessel deliberatley rammed the USS Greeneville.

Back to topic. Sure. The Chinese government officials are being assholes about the whole thing. So what! The U.S blew up their goddamn embassy in Serbia just a couple years ago. I say let 'em put the screws to little Georgie and all those cold warrior action figures he calls a cabinet.

By the way (ok this is a complete non-sequitor), anyone remember in 1988 when the USS Vincennes warship shot down that Iranian commercial airliner and killed 290 people. The commander of the Vincennes was given the Legion of Merit Award for "for exceptionally meritorious conduct and outstanding service, and for the calm and professional atmosphere under his command in the Gulf."

The US military needs to be put on a leash (or better yet, a burlap sack, and the thrown into a swift-moving river).

Right now it's getting what it deserves for being the arrogant, espionage-obsessed, murderous, terrorist organization that it is.

When you consider:

A. The extent of the damage to the plane following the collision, especially its propellers, and

B. Dropping 8,000 vertical feet(over a mile straight down), and

C. Landing on CHINESE soil, then

Logic would strongly suggest that this aircraft was not far from Chinese territory at the time of the collision, to be able to land so quickly, as it had to, on Chinese soil. This evidence strongly suggests the U.S. spyplane was NOT in international airspace when the collision occured.

Bemused,

Thanks for setting VAC(short for Vacuous, maybe?) straight. Someone had to refute that hardline BS...
