Berkeley FTAA Teach-in 3/20
An FTAA Teach-in is happening in Berkeley on Tuesday, March 20.
The line-up for next Tuesday's (March 20) Teach-in at La Peña (3105 Shattuck, near Ashby BART, 7-9:30 PM):
- Opener: Art & Revolution's Stop-FTAA street-theater piece!
- Speakers:
- Antonia Juhasz: FTAA Nuts & Bolts
- Karega Hart: Labor & Globalization's Impacts on African-American Communities
- Pierre Labossiere: Globalization's Effects on Haiti and the Caribbean
- Victor Menotti: NAFTA & FTAA effects on Forests & the Environment
- Screening: "New World Border" - premier of the 26-minute video on immigration issues by Jose Palafox. This is the sequel to an acclaimed video by the same video-maker, who will be present and facilitate a break-out session on Immigration Rights.
- Breakout Sessions/facilitators: Water (Antonia), Labor/Local Communities of Color (Karega), Haiti/Caribbean (Pierre), Forests & Environment (Victor), Immigrant Rights (Jose). Get into the nitty-gritty on the subject of your choice!
