I have lived in Chattanooga all my life and they have a few problems just like any other city, but the police department and city government IS NOT as bad as this web site makes it appear. Law abiding citizens need have no fear of unfair treatment! It's easy to incite people on the Net when they don't know anything about a city; but then I guess that's the idea, isn't it?

Can a city be considered as a good place to live when people have to go down on the streets to fight for their rights? Protesters are "law abiding citizens" as much, unfortunately, as rich people that use chemicals and insecticids that pollute the planet to have a greener garden than their other rich neighbor.

It might be a great place to live only if people have the right to express themselves, whatever their point is. It is legal, but people are unfairly stopped of doing it because of a difference of opinions with the leaders. Tell me, now that you only see the information that is on TV, does it mean you're well informed? No, because this version is covered by sensationnalism. Will you ever see other versions? No, because you're not allowed by the authorities to make up your own idea of what happened. Now tell me, if someone, to take this same example, shows you that you have to stop breathing to live, will you do? No, because you made up your own mind on that idea already. The "law abiding citizens" that are trying to show their own way of thinking and get their mouth shut by someone because it's different of what they want you to hear are treated unfairly and this is what we're fighting.

No, you are not living in a good place to live. America is not a good place to live.

I have lived in Chattanooga my entire life. I agree that there are a few cops in the area that look for trouble. (A Red Bank (suburb "city")got on my family and I who were peacfully watching a Red Bank highschool football game for standing out side a fence watching. we had done nothing wrong and it was the fourth quarter. We just walked around to the front where a bunch of other people were watching and he followed and just watched us but nothing really happened.)But over all, other than a few bad cops there is no problem.

why is it that your not suppose to stereo type people
yet people turn right around and stereo type the police.

Aren't the police made up of individual people.

yes they are made up of individual people, BUT they follow the orders of a few and commit actions en masse according to the orders of one or two persons ... therefore when you speak of their actions as a whole, it is not inaccurate. An officer who fails to follow these orders is in fact subject to punishment.

The people of Chattanooga are lazy. I've lived here for a while and it seems to me that we just watch these things fly over our heads.

I think Chattanoogans really need to grow out of this "freindly neighborhood" type city and get more invovled in the world around us.
