Hi All,
Congratulations on the tremendously successful teach-in yesterday. Hats
off to Teatro Campesino for their raucous performance! Over 250 people attended and we raised over $1300! So, after expenses, we know have a clear $600 to put towards organizing the Feb. 24 protest march. More importantly, about 60 stayed behind to join one of the organizing committees: Events, Outreach, Literature, Lobbying and local MUDs. Several members of some
really cool bands stayed behind too to organize a musical fundraiser. All in
all, it was a great step forward in the fight for public power!
Committees are going to meet over the course of the week or are working
on stuff, so we're going to have our next general Campaign for Public Power
coalition meeting next Monday, Feb. 19 at 7pm at City Blend Cafe on 16th
Street between Valencia and Mission (unless anyone has a better space). Just
to be clear, this means we're NOT having a meeting tonight.
If you want to join a committee or find out what they are working on/when
they'll meet, you can contact the following people:
