Bay Area Anarchist Conference

by anonymous anarchist
conference during same weekend as anarchist bookfair
On Sunday March 25th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Berkeley Anarchist Students of Theory And Research and Development (BASTARD) will sponsor the Bay Area Anarchist Conference at the Mission Cultural Center, 2868 Mission Street, one block south of 24th Street BART.

For the past five years, the Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair has attracted many diverse people who are curious about anarchism and anarchist literature. It is our intention to offer people a venue for deepening
their understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of anarchism, both historically and currently.

Two panel discussions will be featured: the first on the topic of anarchist social revolution, the second consisting of members of various anarchist collective projects. Workshops on the theory and practice of anarchism will occur throughout the day, and space will be available for
spontaneous discussions as well. The conference is not a private or exclusive event; however, we prefer that these discussions take place between and among those interested in the continuance and extension of anarchic activities.

No commerce will take place at the conference; there will be a table available in the lobby for the distribution of free material.

An entrance fee of $5-10 will be charged to all participants to help defray the cost of renting the space, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Members of the media may attend; they will be identified with nametags, and no recording devices (cameras, tape recorders, etc.) will be allowed in the space in order to protect the privacy of participants. Media people are expected to pay the full entrance fee of $10.

For security reasons no animals, food, drugs, alcohol, or weapons will be allowed.

For more information, contact mumpfish [at] pacbell.net
