Voices of the Mattole Forest Defenders
Total time 20:45. Hear the voices of the Mattole Forest Defenders, as they introduce themselves and describe the struggle to defend some of the last of the ancient Douglas Fir forests from plunder by Maxxam/ Pacific Lumber Company. The activists describe the area, confrontations with police and logging crews, pepper spray and arrests, and the complex blockades they have built twelve miles into PL company land to keep the trees standing, with contact information at the end. Community and Micro radio producers are encouraged to rebroadcast this collage of voices from the front lines!

Brave ones, thank you for your courageous activism. We were with you last night as we gathered in Albion with the Albion Nation Elders, Forest defenders, community leaders. to discuss with MRC manager Mike Geni (sp?} The latest THP a new assault on Enchanted Meadow which was met with the Albion uprising in 1992, supported by Judi Bari, Alicia Little Tree, Daryl Cherney and other Earth First! Activists. Large crowd confronted, MRC, RPF, and "Forest communications" Great wisdom was spoken, lies uncovered and a warning from an Albion Nation Father promised a huge powerful and immediate defense. /In fact these corporate criminals, Maxxam, The Fisher Family, should apologize and pay reparations to our communities and let us go about restoring our essential resources so we can survive. I send love and protection.
