After a stand off at the door for an hour or so the cops apparently figured out that the protesters weren't in the mood for property destruction and retreated. Gap security guards tried but failed to stop protesters from getting in. Protesters chanted anti-sweat shop, anti-consumerism slogans as Gap employees, and customers (who had been entering and exiting through a side door the whole time) looked on. Note: my research seems to indicate that January 20th 2001 was the first time a protester entered the Gap using pedal power. Way to go!
