Santa Cruz Protests Loudly!
Mulitple rallies held in beach-side Santa Cruz to protest the inaugural 'coronation' of King George II
Santa Cruz:
At the beach side town's protest center, the Clock Tower at the end of the Pacific Garden Mall, a large protest rally was held with hundreds waving signs, chanting, singing and generally whooping it up in protest of our new "selected" president.
At the other end of the mall, Art & Revolution organized a wonderfully entertaining "coronation" parade which processed down Pacific Avenue to near the town center at which point the paraders held at 12:00 noon, the coronation of King George II. There were supreme court justices presiding with peasant-workers bowing at King George's feet. A wonderful show.
After the coronation had taken place, the Kings court proceeded onward to join the already rousing protesters at the clock tower.
After a short spell there, the whole mass marched onward down to the County Court House where a large ralley was held with many speakers to include Santa Cruz Mayor (and Green Party member) Tim Fitzmaurice (Hey Tim, how about abolishing that Sleeping ban, hmm?).
Way to go Santa Cruz!!! We're not a huge metropolis but we're educated and serious about our politics! The revolution has begun!
