POSSIBLE CHALLENGE TO US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULTS BY CONGRESS?

Democratic activists are lobbying the public to ask the US Congress to challenge the results of the 2000 Presidential election.Last night on the Mike Webb program on KIRO radio in Seattle, Democrat Bob Fertick called upon citizens to contact their representatives and senators in congress immediately and demand that they challenge the presidential election results based on technical errors, civil rights violations and inaccurate results.

The US Congress has until Saturday to challenge the inauguration of George W. Bush.

Fertick is urging people to log on to the Democrats.com website and send statements directly to their representatives in Washington DC.

The NAACP, AFL-CIO, NOW plan demonstrations in Washington DC on Inauguration Day, January 20th. Local activists plan to hold a theatrical "counter inauguration" in Seattle featuring music and political satire, as well as speakers from the above mentioned groups.
