Critical Mass SF Celebrates 100th Ride
San Francisco's community bike ride celebrates its 100th monthly event on Friday Dec. 29.
December 22, 2000
The SF ride survives and thrives
In spite of a no holds barred multimedia
hate campaign and premeditated, official violence, Critical Mass survives and thrives in its birthplace, San Francisco. And the supporters of the loathsome lame duck mayor, the one who tried to use the ride as a scapegoat to cover his own chicanery, lost in 9 out of 11 Board of Supervisors races.
He who laughs last, laughs best.

On Dec. 29, 5:30pm, San francisco will see its 100th Critical Mass ride! Coincidentally, it's also the LAST SF Critical Mass ride of the
(true) Millennium! Starting at the foot of
Market St, San Francisco, the ride meanders its way through the car-clogged streets of the city, with bells and laughter and smiles aplenty. Decorated bikes, costumes, banners, music, and more make for a great time at the Bay Area's
largest monthly community bike ride. All welcome!
Since its inception 99 rides ago, over 230 cities around the world have held
these pedal-powered processions. The ultimate urban vehicle in both
efficiency, size, and fun, bikes continue to reclaim their space on the streets.
Usher in the New Millennium--on a bike--for the future!
