by gekked
Stand up for justice in the Mission! Etown.com has illegally fired workers who were trying to organize a union.
On Monday, November 27, 2000, in the face of blatant anti-union firings by their employer, etown.com, more than 70% of the employees in the customer service department filed for a union representation election with the National Labor Relations Board.

This is the first time ANY dot-commers have made such a move, but many others are watching to see what will happen here. Workers at Amazon.com are among other "new sector" employees currently looking to organize a union in their workplace.

Etown has retained the union-busting law firm of Jackson Lewis -- rated as the number one union-buster in the country by the AFL-CIO.

A rally is being organized by the Northern California Media Workers-CWA on behalf of the workers terminated by etown and for those who are still employed, yet who remain committed to organizing a union. Join us and let your voice be heard!

WHEN: Friday, December 8

TIME: 12 noon - 1pm

WHERE: In front of etown offices, 2017 Mission St., @ 16th Street in SF
