Sonoma County's No Spray Action Network first Open Meeting--Dec. 11, Mon., 7-9 p.m., at the Summerfield School barn west of Santa Rosa.
PLEASE HELP DISTRIBUTE THIS NEWS:
The No Spray Action Network invites you to our first Open Meeting--Dec. 11, Mon., 7-9 p.m., at the Summerfield School barn west of Santa Rosa. The purpose of the meeting is for the No Spray steering committee to report on its recent long-term strategy planning session. Our plan will be presented and discussed. We will offer ways for people to "plug in" to various strategies to oppose forced pesticide spraying against the glassy-winged sharpshooter insect. This meeting is for people who are willing to take or
support direct action.
Summerfield School is located at 655 Willowside Rd., halfway between Hall and Guerneville Roads on the west side of the street. A big sign marks the school, pass through the main parking lot by the classrooms to the smaller lot at the end. People are welcome to arrive after 6:30 to meet each other
over tea and coffee before the meeting and to stay briefly after the meeting
for further questions.
People will be invited to join various sub-committees that we are developing. Among the issues to be covered might be the following: public education and outreach, update on plans for forced spraying, non-violent training for civil disobedience, strategies of resistance, legal issues, the
development of support groups, etc.
The No Spray Action Network has a single goal--oppose forced spraying of
people's yards and land against the glassy-winged sharpshooter. Anyone who
agrees with this objective is welcome to join us at this meeting. We seek to collaborate and cooperate with other groups. Please RSVP to nospraymail [at] yahoo.com or to Mari at 874-3119, so we will know how many people to expect. More information is also available at this address and number. We hope that you will join us in this effort to protect our lives,
homes and land.
