N16- Live Report

(cinci, n16) -- So the weather if freezing but the spirits of the protesters here is good. there has been low turnout, but higher turnout is expected tomorrow for the rally and march.
Black Block took over todays rally at around 2:00 pm. A confrontation with the heavily armed cinci police ensued with hit and rund street blockades. Protesters carried barricades down the streets facing off against the police. Eventually, several protesters were injured, i have footage of some arrests with a protester bleeding from the nose and mouth. The police managed to split the black block tear gassing one group. Sponge bullets were used against some protesters.
Tonight there is a labor picket and a peoples party celebration. Tomorrow is the final action a rally and march. We should see some more black block actions and larger crowd numbers.
