channel 2 10 pm coverage of protests in prague and in the bay area. Berkeley's street rave & a bite from "Joseph Hill", plus housing demo in Oakland
I missed the beginning of this news story, about 45 seconds worth.
I was surprised by how positive the coverage was, how it explained why the protests were happening and didn't focus on the anarchistic element of the demonstrations. The tv reporters could have said a lot more about smashing things and fires than they did.
In addition to what I got on tape, I also saw the news on Bay TV, which was even more favorable and complete, including interviews with several people.
Berkeley's "Joseph Hill" did an excellent job with his sound bites for the cameras on both channels.
Lots of people with videocameras were there in Berkeley tonight, so I expect there will be excellent footage up here soon.
