SOA WATCH BENEFIT CONCERTS IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA

With the movement gearing up for a vote to close the SOA next year in
Congress, mobilizing efforts are intensifying and our message is being
carried farther and louder, with more enthusiasm! But with such amazing
growth comes some amazing financial increases. One way you can help to
defray some of the costs for the November Vigil is to attend a Friday or
Saturday night benefit concert here in Columbus, Georgia. Both concerts
will feature many of the incredible musicians performing on the stage
during this weekend's rallies. Help continue the work of SOA Watch AND
listen to some great music!

Friday night, November 18
Howard Johnson Presidential Room, 1011 Veterans Parkway
9:30 pm - midnight

Saturday night, November 19
Columbus Convention Center Ballroom, 801 Front Avenue
9:30 pm - midnight

WHAT YOU NEED TO CROSS THE LINE

Pictures of abuse at the hands U.S. personnel and recent reports about
secret CIA detention facilities have catapulted the controversial School
of the Americas back into the public spotlight. This weekend, thousands
will converge on Fort Benning to call for the closure of the SOA and for a
change in U.S. foreign policy. This year's gathering will culminate on
Sunday, November 20 with a symbolic funeral procession to the gates of the
military base. Many will negotiate a barbed-wire fence to enter the base
in an act of nonviolent direct action.

If you are planning to cross the line on Sunday, please click on the
following link for more info and plan to attend the Direct Action Meeting
on Saturday, November 19 at 8 pm in the Columbus Convention Center.
