Photos from Camp Casey and Women's March to Bush Ranch

by Jeff Paterson, Not in Our Name (jeff [at] paterson.net)
CRAWFORD, TEXAS (Aug. 18, 2005): The stand off continues in Central Texas as over 200 folks from across Texas and the country camp along side the road leading to the Bush vacation ranch. Due to a family emergency, Cindy Sheehan left for California for a couple of days and plans on returning this weekend. This evening, a march of over a hundred women marched a couple of miles up towards the Bush ranch in order to deliver a basket of messages to Bush's wife Laura.

The stand off continues in Central Texas as about 200 folks from across Texas and the country camp along side the road leading to the Bush vacation ranch near Crawford. Every day Cindy Sheehan has greeted newly arriving Gold Star Families for Peace and other military family members -- and today was no different. Due to a family emergency, Cindy left for California for a couple of days and plans on returning to Crawford this weekend. Press conferences and other events are moving forward, and people are being encouraged to continue making their way to Crawford. Many new visitors are expected this weekend, including a few well know musicians and other “celebs.” This evening, a march of over a hundred women trooped up the road a couple of miles to deliver anti-war messages to Bush's wife Laura. At the final Secret Service roadblock, surrounded by a throng of media, a White House representative accepted the baskets of letters.
