<B>3 min. video requires MS Windoze Media Player. "Fear will not silence us!"</b><P>Not in Our Name NYC anti-militarism art opening with film, poets and live music. Video highlights Apostels, Outernational, and poet Tron from Hawai'i.
Aug 22, 2004 - Soon-to-be-RNC-protesters geared up to deliver a phat “NO!” to the Bush Agenda last night in a crowded NYC financial district art space. Documentary film footage shot in occupied Iraq, poetry delivered by Tron of Hawai’i, and live jams from Outernational and Apostels were a few highlights (all pictured below) – surrounded by over 150 works of “anti-militarism” art collected from around the country. Art highlights include signed work by Winston Smith and watercolor portraits of immigrants who have come under attack since 9/11 for their religion or ethnicity (both also pictured below). Check out the art show at next Friday’s “Bands Against Bush” Not in Our Name benefit—August 27, 8pm, Alwan for the Arts, 16 Beaver Street between Broad and Broadway in the Financial District.
