While a Peace activist was getting arrested at a permited rally in Fresno a few Fresno Activists went to San Francisco to participate in the Anti War actions taking place there.
Some of us joined in an unpermitted breakaway march. Our permit was our voices and our running shoes. We kept a quick pace as the police tried to corral us. We made it several blocks until the police finally got us cornered at an intersection. Even then they were only able to violently arrest about 30 to 40 people out of a crowd of about 1,000.
After about a half hour a couple hundred of us regathered and started marching again. We marched through traffic up one way streets. This made it hard for the police to follow. After 6 or 7 blocks the police were able to block us off again. This time about 25 of us ran back to Market St. and 2 blocks to Civic Center square being followed by about 25 riot clad police.
