The US bombing campaign that started in March 2003 is still obvious around Baghdad. Less obvious is the impact it has had on the people of Iraq.

If you look carefully you can see the damage that US tank shelling did. This killed a journalist from Al Jazeera. The US knew the hotel was full of journalists.

The kid on the left reluctantly pulled up his pant leg to show huge scars from wounds he recieved when the US bombed his house in March 2003.

Bombing destroyed many things. Infrastructure was dammaged but so was the smooth functioning of the city. Here razor wire blocks off a street passing a gas station. Gas is in short supply in the country with the worlds second largest oil supply. Garbage collection has been greatly reducced and huge piles line streets and tangle in the omnipresent barbed wire.
