Rally and March for NO WAR!

by David Hanks/Global Exchange (david [at] globalexchange.org)
San Francisco -- Tens of thousands of people gathered for rallies and marches to cry out against a preemptive strike on Iraq on Saturday. Beginning with a rally at the Civic Center, protestors marched through the Western Addition to Jefferson Square Park for another rally. A breakaway march left the Park around 2pm and proceeded to the South of Market area where it was eventually broken up by police. This was the fourth large protest in the last five months, and might be the last before a US invasion of Iraq. (Photographs by David Hanks/Global Exchange -- Saturday 15 March 2003)
