How Snide Can An SF Politician Be: Talk To Michael Sweet and Find Out

by blech
There were quite a few politicians who showed up for the Feinstein-Newsom rally for prop N, but one politician who seemed especially irritating was Michael Sweet.

Michael Sweet's stand on corporate power and the war could not have been more obvious. After shmoozing with supporters of his from the business community he approached the antiWar protesters and made snide remarks about hurting homeless people and bombing Iraq.

OK, another Republican politican running for a conservative district? Nope, on his website he tries to make himself seem like a mainstream liberal (http://www.sweetforsupervisor.org/ ) Its good to catch these corporate pawns off guard.

Since hes running against Chris Daly, he will probably lose, but its good for San Francisco to see what an asshole the conservative candidates really are. The liberal ones are not much better but Newsom and this guy kinda remind me of that movie "Bob Roberts".

Since Michael Sweet was admitted to the bar in 1996 (see http://www.calsb.org), he is probably about 30 years old. This young squirt is obviously making a career move by running for political office. Whether or not he wins (not likely), he is making useful business connections, which is his main reason for running for office and would be his main reason for holding any office. This is typical of both Democratic and Republican Party politicians as both parties are capitalist parties, and thus pro-capitalist business oriented politicians are the norm in both parties.

The only question is, why is anyone surprised?

It would have been more useful to the readers of this website to know where and when this rally was held, how many showed up, and what did the sleazebags Feinstein and Newsom have to say? Did King Willie the Last show up too, as he is also Yes on N? What other public figures showed up and what did they have to say?

My recommendation to Mr Sweet is that he should shave his neck. Immediately.

And weekday evenings, and Sundays?

Because if we want to protect against these idiots we need to be walking precincts, making phone calls, and doing the grunt work.

And posting here - thanks!! Its extremely inspirational toward working on campaigns to see these fascists up close - great work.
