PALESTINIAN PEOPLE! END THE OCCUPATION! WESTWOOD FEDERAL BLDNG on Sat., March 30 at 12 NOON Israeli repression has never been more severe, but the courage that engenders the Palestinian struggle inspires all those who want justice and peace. Around the world, the condemnation of brutal Israeli military tactics using the most hi-tech U.S. supplied weapons is growing. And, even after being dispersed by military force, and more than a half century of repression, Palestine refuses to disappear! Since the Al-Aqsa uprising began, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, and many thousands seriously injured. Palestinian territories are sealed off from the outside world and from each other, by Israeli tanks and soldiers. Thirty seven people have died while emergency medical vehicles waited to pass Israeli checkpoints. Apartment houses are routinely fired into with missiles, olive groves destroyed, houses demolished. Thousands of Palestinian youth have been rounded up and thrown into jails. The Sharon government is hell-bent on destroying any and all efforts at negotiation, and carries out the most provocative attacks at just the right times to destroy the possibility of talks. Still, the Bush administration offers only mild, veiled criticisms of Israeli brutality, and calls Palestinian resistance "terrorism." Demonstrate on Palestinian Day of the Land! ONGOING ACTIVITY: STOP VOTING FOR THE DEMOCRAT-REPUBLICANS. They all routinely vote for money for Israel, which is used to murder the Palestinians. Demand that the US cut off all aid to Israel. Call Barbara Lee and all the other "liberals" and demand they vote to cut off all US aid to Israel now. We pay $4 billion annually above the table and $4 billion annually below the table to Israel to murder Palestinians to guarantee no revolutionary movement threat to US oil company profits. Meanwhile, we have massive social service cutbacks at home. These liberals are not for peace if they vote for money for Israel. It is time the 54 year occupation end now and a secular, socialist state of Palestine be established, for only a socialist secular state can guarantee peace in the Middle East.
