We would like to remind you of this upcoming event.
General meeting on airport workers
Date: Monday, March 18, 2002
Time: 7:00PM PST (GMT-08:00)
General meeting on the Filipino airport workers' struggle:
Mondays 7 pm
SEIU Local 790 Offices
1390 Market Street (corner 9th St.), 11th floor
San Francisco, CA
Get plugged in at the next general meeting, and help us win this
fight.
Thousands of immigrant airport workers across the country stand to lose
their jobs because of a post-9/11 requirement that mandates all
baggage screeners to be U.S. citizens. This racist, anti-immigrant
requirement has nothing to do with -- and in fact will compromise -- travel safety. In the Bay Area, 1,200 overwhelmingly Filipino screeners stand to lose their jobs in the coming months.
We call on all community, immigrant rights and labor activists -- and
everyone disgusted by the recent attacks on immigrants and workers -- to
join us in this key battle.

§What I Want to Know
What is the AFL-CIO's position on this? What is SEIU's position on this? What is SEIU's position on AFL-CIO's position? Is this political messiness just not talked about? Who is defending these workers, besides the ISO?

§The Flips love the USA
Filipinos make good service workers such as prostitutes and maids. You only need to go down there to see how they treat their underclass. The PI is full of tyrants and servants. Like it or not. They worship American prosperity.
