Mission District - Support MAC!
This Wednesday, May 9, 2001, the Board of Appeals will hear whether or not the community is entitled to a Discretionary Review Hearing. The Planning Department lost or ignored the Mission Anti-displacement Coalition's application for a discretionary review hearing last November and issued building permits to the developers. When we became aware of this, the Planning Department withdrew the permits. The developer is now going to the Board of Appeals to rescind the decision to allow our rightful hearing. The developer and their high powered attorneys have lined up pro-development residents to show up.
It is vital that MAC show up with folks to back us up! The Mission deserves a Discretionary Review Hearing to review the polluting aspects of this project that the Planning Commission ignored, and that are now being reviewed by the Board of Supervisors (see Below).
The hearing is at the Board of Appeals Room 416 at City Hall 7:00 p.m.
Also: Supervisor Maxwell's Hearing on Server Farms
Tuesday May 8, 10:00 a.m. at City Hall Planning Commission Hearing on Conditional Use Appeals New rules for the ability to appeal Conditional Uses by non-property owners. As of now, only property owners can appeal. Support new legislation to give tenants' rights to appeal through the Board of Supervisors. Thursday, May 10th around 3:30 p.m. at Planning Commission Hearing at City Hall 4th floor.
Important! Please call or e-mail to let us know if you can attend.
